Dr Robert Tilley is a lecturer in biblical studies and ancient languages at the Catholic Institute of Sydney and in Christian literature at the Aquinas Academy.
Dr Tilley takes us on a journey from Abraham to the great prophets to bring out the techniques used by the biblical writers and prophets – and in particular the notions of beauty, corruption, and the almighty power of God being made present in the smallest of things in this world.
Dr Tilley presents an introduction to the problems of modern biblical criticism and its origins; the notion of beauty and its role in rediscovering the skill and subtlety of the writing of the Scriptures; and an exploration of the structure, journey and context of the Torah.
