Science and the “Mind of God”

“Ideas have consequences. The rediscovery by agnostic as well as believing scientists of the idea of “Mind” underlying the beauty and rationality of our physical world has implications for a renewed sense of meaning, and therefore of purpose – and even hope – for our culture.”

In this presentation entitled “Science and the ‘Mind of God’: a new springtime for the Christian view of cosmic history”, Robert Van Gend explains the recent thought which sees the universe’s “happenstance” and “lawful regularity” as revealing of a rational Creator.

This presentation was part of The Christopher Dawson Centre for Cultural Studies’ 2015 Colloquium on the theme “Ideas Dangerous to Atheism”, hosted in Hobart, Australia.
