40 days for life, starting tonight

0

From March 9 – April 17, our community will be one of hundreds of cities around the world joining together for a groundbreaking & coordinated Lenten pro-life campaign — 40 Days for Life.

It’s a focused pro-life effort that consists of three key areas of participation:

  • 40 days of prayer and fasting
  • 40 days of peaceful vigil
  • 40 days of community outreach

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil across the road from Pre-Term abortion mill in Surry Hills Sydney.

Across the road from this location we will be keeping a prayer vigil for 40 Days from 6am to 8pm every day.

It all begins tonight, however, at the 2011 Lenten Campaign Launch:

Date: Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Time: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Join +Bp. Terry Brady and many priests & religious along with hundreds of people as we celebrate Holy Mass with a special “Blessing of the participants” by +Bp. Brady.

We then take the 40 Days 2011 campaign to the city streets with a peaceful, prayerful procession to 40 Days corner and return to St. Peter’s where we celebrate Shrove Tuesday in true Catholic style with pancakes and refreshments! (all free)
