Pope St Cletus was known as the third Pope, following St Linus and St Peter. He was among the first disciples of St Peter and was Pope for twelve years. He ordained an undetermined number of priests during his reign, but very little is known about him. Pope St Cletus was martyred in the persecutions of Domitian. His name is mentioned in the Roman Canon.
