A Home in the Small Things

0

This second talk in Dr Tilley’s series is entitled “The Big Things of Heaven find a Home in the Small Things on
Earth; the Prophets and the Unexpected”. Dr Tilley takes us on a journey from Abraham to the great prophets to bring out the techniques used by the biblical writers and prophets – and in particular the notions of beauty, corruption, and the almighty power of God being made present in the smallest of things in this world.

This series – The Beauty and Inspiration of the Bible – serves as an introduction to the contemporary trends in Biblical studies; including a rediscovery of what the ancients had always known of the Scriptures, an understanding of the Bible’s beautiful architecture in relation to the Temple, and how the Bible is written to prompt a deep reading of the text.
