St Didacus

1

St Didacus was born in 1400. He was  a Franciscan brother who manifested great zeal for souls and willingness for sacrifice; his superiors sent him with other brethren to the Canary Islands. Didacus was eager for martyrdom, and in the spirit bore with dauntless patience the many hardships that came his way. Both by word and example he helped in converting many. Didacus died in 1463 and was canonised in 1588. He is the patron for the Diocese of San Diego in America.
