The Australian Regional World Congress of Families has drawn much media and political attention as of late – being described as homophobic, sexist and violent.
Congress organisers have had to find a new venue at the last minute under police instruction, and speakers such as as Bernie Finn have cancelled their appearance citing safety concerns.
We spoke to local WCF organiser Babette Francis about this year’s Congress, and whether accusations of bigotry from the media are well founded.
