Humility and Hierarchy

“Humility is related to humus… And this attitude allows us to have a confident intelligence, but a humble moral sense which is not self-centred, not looking back on itself, not wringing its hands like Uriah Heep…”

In this presentation entitled “Humility and Hierarchy: Dangerous Attitude – Dangerous Metaphysics”, Anna Krohn presents the heart-centred philosophy of Dietrich von Hildebrand which recognises human dignity, hierarchy of virtues, and a demand of humility.

This presentation was part of The Christopher Dawson Centre for Cultural Studies’ 2015 Colloquium on the theme “Ideas Dangerous to Atheism”, hosted in Hobart, Australia.
