A Place for Faith in Politics?


Tony Abbott marks only the second Catholic Prime Minister from a conservative party in Australia’s history – yet in his recent campaign very little was said about his faith by the media or the man himself. Does this say something about the room for religion in the politics of Canberra?

We chat to In God They Trust? author Roy Williams about the role of religion for Tony Abbott as Prime Minister, whether a person of faith can currently stand for their religion in the current political landscape, and how the faithful are best able to make their voices heard.
