On Euthanasia & Marriage: Faith or Reason?

In this public lecture for the Centre for Faith, Ethics & Society, Professor John Finnis confronts two of the great moral and legal issues of our time: euthanasia and same-sex marriage. Professor Finnis outlines the inconsistencies and problems within the push for legalised euthanasia, the reasons why legislatures can not and should not redefine marriage, the troubling consequences of allowing both into law, and interaction between faith and reason the argument against these issues.

Professor John Finnis is a world renowned scholar in law and philosophy. He is currently a Professor of Law and Legal Philosophy at the University College, Oxford; and Biolchini Family Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana; and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by The University of Notre Dame Australia.
