Forty days after the Birth of Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Joseph presented Him in the Temple in Jerusalem, following the Mosaic Law. At the Presentation, Simeon encounters Jesus and rejoices in His presence. Anna the Prophetess too sees the Child Jesus, and “[spoke]of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” (Luke 2:38, ESV)
