St Peter Claver


St Peter Claver was born in Verdu, Catalonia, Spain in 1581. He was known as a Jesuit priest and missionary work in Columbia. During his 40 year ministry he gave spiritual and physical healing to slaves as well as working for humane treatments. It is estimated the he converted 300,000 people to become Christians. Peter died in Catalonia, Spain in 1654 and was canonised in 1888. He is the patron saint of slaves.
