Martyrs of Paraguay

1

The Martyrs of Paraguay were Jesuit missionaries who went to share the Good News of Jesus with the native Indians. These Jesuit priests preached about Jesus and God’s saving plan for all people. Many Paraguay Indians listened and believed in their message. They asked to be baptized and began to live new lives as Christians. They were martyred in 1628 and were later canonised in 1988 by St John Paul II.
