The Holy Name of Mary

The Holy Name of Mary is the feast day on which the inexpressible love of the Mother of God for her Holy Child is recalled, and the eyes of the faithful are directed to the figure of the Mother of the Redeemer, for them to invoke with devotion. This feast day began in Spain in 1513 and it was later extended to all of Spain and the Kingdom of Naples in 1671. Twelve years later Pope Innocent XI extended this feast to the entire Church.
