Marriage and its proposed redefinition have been at the forefront of Australian politics and media of late, with the issue being raised at both federal and state levels. While the issue is often framed as being about ‘equality’, at core it’s a conflict in understanding of what marriage truly is.

William B. May is Chairman of Catholics for the Common Good in California and author of the book Getting the Marriage Conversation Right: a guide for effective dialogue. We caught up with him to get his insights into the marriage debate and the importance of getting the message right.
