Fr Paul Monkerud shares his experiences of merging parishes and with a positive outlook, he explores the opportunities that arise when parishes merge. Whilst Fr Paul is aware of the difficulties that arises in such situations, he tries to emphasise the good that can occur in such situations which are often forgotten or buried beneath the hurt. Fr Paul also tries to facilitate healing and understanding by shedding understanding on why some parishes merge, particularly from his own experiences.
