Glasgow Midwives and the Fight for Conscience


Last year, after a seven-year legal battle, the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom ruled that midwives Mary Doogan and Connie Wood could not conscientiously object to participating in abortions.

In this talk in Hobart, Glasgow midwife Mary Doogan describes her famous battle with health authorities and her own union for the right to refuse to participate in abortion procedures.
