“Yes, this disturbs a fallen world – and it will respond with ridicule, ostracism, persecutions, fines, persecution, and even death. But as Christ’s people patiently and even joyfully suffer the consequences, the Spirit of Glory will manifest the Eternal Truth, and point the persecutor to the Eternal King, and the New Heaven and the New Earth that are to be found in Him.”

In this presentation entitled “The Church’s Disturbing Higher Allegiance to Christ: The Promise of Freedom for All”, Rt Revd Campbell Markham explains the Christian approach to civil authority, and offers a brief history of how Christians have responded to persecution.
