Vice Batarelo: Croatia’s Success in Defending Marriage

Although it was not widely reported in the Australian press, the people of Croatia successfully passed a referendum to have marriage defined as “matrimony between a woman and a man” in their constitution. Although the sitting government and local media were against the referendum, U ime obitelji successfully won the vote at 66.28% voting for the amendment. One man who helped this success was Australian-born Vice Batarelo.

We spoke to Vice Batarelo at the Life & Family National Conference to find out about his inspiring story in successfully defending marriage in Croatia, and what we can learn from his experience.
