Called to Love: My journey to the priesthood

3

“…Having to live with all those weaknesses which I could see in myself, and yet  God Who sees even more for some reason would choose me to be one of His instruments…that really gave me a sense of gratitude…”

Fr Emmanuel Seo shares the journey that led him from Buddhism to Christianity, and eventually to the priesthood. He also provides some helpful insights into discerning God’s will for our lives.

A Prayer for Vocations

O God, Father of all Mercies,
Provider of a bountiful Harvest,
send Your Graces upon those
You have called to gather the fruits of Your labor;
preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you.

Open the hearts of Your children
that they may discern Your Holy Will;
inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves
to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ.

Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life
guided by Your Divine Word and Truth.
Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers
and grant Your Church’s needs, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

  1. Thank you for that amazing story of Fr Emmanuel, Wow what an incredible story of strong faith in God and such a humble man coming from a very different background of Buddhism. I really loved this story and what a great example to share with others who are also discerning what God is calling them for. Thank you Fr Emmanuel for your strong belief and faith in God. It has given me great courage to pray more and listen to what God is saying to me. It has not been an easy journey especially in the current lifestyle of too many false and unsustainable temptations,distractions and momentarily pleasures..
