Although she appeared on the Australian $5 note until 1992, not many Australians know much about Caroline Chisholm. But Caroline stands as a vital Catholic figure in the early history of European settlement in Australia.
We speak to Clara Geoghegan from Melbourne’s Catholic Theological College about the life of Caroline Chisholm, how she changed the lives of those around her, and how she remains a prophet for the role of the laity in our own time.
