After a car accident nearly took her life as a teenager, Sr Mary Madeline OP was lead to seriously ask God “what did you make me for?” Her honest search lead her to the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia, Australia and now to the Angelicum in Rome.
“I really surrendered and said ‘Lord, I’m confused about this, I don’t know what’s happening. If you want this for me, you have to give me some direction.’ And that became my prayer over and over again.”

This is the fourth in a series of 8 reflections on the call and vocation of biblical figures.Dr Robert Tilley is a lecturer in biblical studies and ancient languages at the Catholic Institute of Sydney and in Christian literature at the Aquinas Academy. Dr Tilley received his Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Theology from the University of Sydney.He is a regular a columnist for Annals Magazine. In 2004 Dr Tilley published “Benedict XVI and the Search for Truth” on the philosophy and theology of the Pope Benedict XVI.
