St Peter Julian Eymard was born on the 4 February 1811 in La Mure, France. He is well known for his great devotion to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. He had a vision of both the clergy and the laypeople celebrating Mass and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, so he establish a religious order that was dedicated to his Eucharistic ideals called the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. He also founded the lay servants of the Blessed Sacrament. St Peter Julian Eymard died on the 1st August 1868 in La Mure, Grenoble, France and his feast day on the 2 August. He was canonised by Pope John XXIII in 1962 and is the patron saint of Eucharistic Adoration.
