St Hugh of Grenoble

St Hugh of Grenoble on 1053 in Italy. He was well-known for serving the people of France as bishop for 52 years. Hugh devoted himself to the Church but also he became a strong leader during times of corruption and conflict between the Church and state. He was a very strong defender of the Church by supporting the papacy and he was also an eloquent preacher. He restored his own cathedral, made civic improvements in the town and weathered a brief exile. St Hugh of Grenoble died on the 1 April 1132 and was canonised by Pope Innocent II two years later. He is the patron saint against headaches.
