St Cajetan

St Cajetan was born in October 1480 in Vicenza, Italy. He is known for being one of the great reformers of the Church during the Reformation period. Cajetan founded a community of priest who lived a monastic life of poverty and prayer and worked closely with the poor in order to combat political and spiritual corruption. His love for the poor helped him to practised charity through personal encounters and founding institutions. St Cajan died on the 7 August 1547 in Naples and was canonised by Pope Clement X in 1671. Cajetan is the patron saint of bankers.
