St Peter Damian

St Peter Damian was born in the year 1007 at Ravenna, Italy. He is well-known for being very good with the poor. It was the ordinary thing for him to have a poor person or two with him at the table and he liked to minister personally to their needs.St Peter Damian lived a life of prayer with the Benedictines of the Reform of St Romuald. He died of a fever in 1072 while surrounded by brothers monks reciting the Divine Office. St Peter Damian was decalared a saint by Pope Leo XII in 1823 and later a Doctor of the Church in 1828.
