St Katharine Drexel was born in 1858 in Philadelphia, United States of America. She is well known for her missionary work among the Native Americans and African Americans of the United States. She became a nun and established the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. She died on the 3rd March, 1983 and was later canonized by St John Paul II in the year 2000. St Katharine is the patron saint of philanthropy.
