St John of Montecorvino

St John of Montecorvino was born in Italy in 1246. He was known as a Franscian and the founder of  the Catholic mission in China as well as for his preaching and teaching. John established his two Churches in Khanbalik (now modern day Beijing) as well as translating the Psalms and the New Testament into the Tatar language. John died in 1328.
