St John Eudes was born on the 14 November 1601 in Ri, Normandy, France. He was known as a missionary and a priest who brought Christ to the poor by forming educated, zealous priests. John also had a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Holy Heart of Mary that he wrote a book of these devotions called “Le Coeur Admirable de la Très Sainte Mère de Dieu”. St John Eudes died on the 19 august 1680 and was canonised by Pope Pius XI in 1925.
