St John Chrysostom

St John Chrysostom was born around the year 347 in Antioch, Asia Minor. He is known for his eloquence in preaching and public speaking, his denunciation of abuse of authority by both ecclesiastical and political leaders, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and his ascetic sensibilities. He was given the name Chrysostom which means golden-mouthed. John died in 407 and is the patron saint of speakers and preachers.
