St Agnes of Bohemia was born in the year 1200 at Prague, Bohemia. She is well-known for living a life of prayer, obedience and mortification. St Agnes was a medieval Bohemian princess who opted for a life of charity and piety over a life of luxury and comfort. She died around the year 1281 and was canonized by Saint John Paul II in 1989. St Agnes is the patron saint of the Czech Republic.
