St John Payne

St John Payne was born in Peterborough, England in 1532. He is known for being an English Catholic priest martyr, one of the Catholic Forty Martyrs of England and Wales. John ministered to Catholics to return to the faith and brought many back to the Church. He died on the 2 April 1582 in Chelmsford, Essex, England and was canonised by Pope Paul VI in 1970.
