Blessed James Oldo was born in 1364 at Lodi, Italy. He is known for being a preacher of penance, who did strict penance himself for the atonement for the transgressions from his earlier life. He cared for the sick and for the prisoners of war and he also transformed his house into a chapel as a place of prayer. He died on the 18th April 1404 and was later beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1934.
