Today we received an email from our friends down in Adelaide about this wonderful story of the power of prayer. There is nothing more powerful than a public display of prayer:
Dear Friends of the Unborn,
Thanks to all your prayers, a baby was saved today at the abortion clinic! Deo gratias!
Outside the abortion clinic this morning in Woodville Park, South Australia, a Vietnamese Buddhist woman stopped briefly to accept a leaflet from Marguerite, a ‘sidewalk counsellor’ with the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants. An hour later, she walked out of the clinic, and the counsellor greeted her asking how old was her baby. The woman said her baby was 7 weeks old, and when asked what decision she had made, she replied, “I decided to keep my baby – because I saw you praying here.”
When offered help with providing baby clothes, help with cooking, a nanny to assist in the home, the woman smiled, showing it was not an issue of financial stress. We gave her some positive pro-life literature to read, she accepted a hug from the counsellor and walked away looking calm and happy. She has accepted the gift of life with her womb!
Tonight, when the counsellor called her, the woman said she had told her 9 year old son that he will have a baby brother or sister!
Please pray for her and for all mothers in similar distress to have her courage.
Please go and pray outside your local abortion clinic! You may be the reason, just by standing there in prayer, that a baby’s life is saved!
Thank you to our Holy Father also, and to all around the world who prayed at a “Vigil for All Nascent Human Life” on Saturday, November 27.
Pope Benedict’s request for Catholics throughout the world to pray last Saturday had a massive positive response from around the world and from pro-life leaders.
It was a historical moment for the Universal Catholic Church to gather together, following Our Holy Father’s request, in a common liturgical event and pray for our preborn brothers and sisters who are being slaughtered around the world by abortion and other attacks from the culture of death.
