Candidate for Diaconate on His Journey Back to the Faith

“I just realised that I can’t live my life without God, I really can’t do this on my own, I need God in my life…”.

Mark’s journey of faith started in the same way as many others: he attended a Catholic school where he participated in the sacraments, only to walk away from the Church the day he graduated. But over the years that followed God reached out to Mark again and again through family, friends and a series of events including an illness that afflicted his wife. Eventually he stopped resisting and returned to the Church bringing his family with him. Today Mark is a candidate for the permanent diaconate in the Diocese of Cairns.

Listen as Mark shares the story of how he fell in love with the great gift of faith, and a bit about what is in store if, God willing, he is ordained to the diaconate in 2016.
